What Do You Get With The Google Chromecast?
I will now run free some of the features that you get with the Google Chromecast and then we will have a look at the fire TV stick.

The Google Chromecast is $35 and does not give you a physical remote control, you can control the product through an app but it uses “Cast” app only. You will get gaming support with the Chromecast however and it will also give you a voice search through the app.

There are features such as screen mirroring which you will be able to use via the chrome browser or android.

The Wi-Fi antenna is a single band device and at the moment it will not work with a captive portal Wi-Fi sign in.

What Do You Get With The Fire TV Stick?
Looking at the fire TV stick it costs $39 so it is a few dollars more expensive but it does give you a physical remote control. There is also an android app coming soon as the product is still quite new and it will give you gaming support but you will have to opt for an optional $40 controller.

You will also be able to use the voice search with the physical remote and using a remote app. At the moment screen mirroring is a feature to be released with the fire TV stick coming via Kindle or android.

With the Wi-Fi you will actually get a dual band Wi-Fi that makes the signal a lot stronger than the Chromecast and the captive portal Wi-Fi sign in feature is still yet to be released.

Verdict:
looking at the two options above they look almost even however if we are going to make a decision we would place on money on the Amazon fire TV stick as this is still a very new product and there are still lots of features to be released.

With the Google Chromecast being a little bit older it is unlikely that there are major updates due out in the imminent future.

With the fire TV stick getting very good reviews and with a whole host of features, with the any downside being that some of the features are yet to be released it is well worth a look!
